A globally recognized real estate investment and development firm is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations for a growing residential portfolio. This organization manages large-scale assets across major U.S. markets and offers a collaborative, performance-oriented culture with strong leadership visibility.
This role will lead accounting oversight for assigned properties and development entities while supervising and mentoring accounting staff.
Compensation: $115k - $120k + 10% bonus
HYBRID - 3 days in office / 2 remote
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- CPA preferred but not required
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Public accounting background strongly preferred
- Commercial real estate accounting experience strongly preferred
- Supervisory / team leadership experience required
Primary Duties & Leadership Responsibilities
- Direct the financial oversight for designated assets and development projects, ensuring reporting is complete, accurate, and delivered within required timelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners across operations and corporate finance to facilitate capital activity and project-related financial reporting
- Act as the central point of contact for financial matters involving lenders, equity partners, and external service providers
- Provide oversight of cash management functions, including review of reconciliations, capital funding activity, investor distributions, and liquidity projections
- Assess and authorize capital draw requests and funding packages submitted to financing partners
- Review and validate reserve adjustments and write-offs in alignment with contractual agreements and ownership structures
- Safeguard adherence to accounting standards by ensuring transactions are recorded appropriately under GAAP, including complex transactions such as property acquisitions, asset dispositions, refinancings, and cost capitalization
- Conduct in-depth analysis of general ledger activity and investigate financial variances
- Supervise the computation, invoicing, and recognition of asset management, development, and construction-related fees
- Evaluate periodic financial statements and accompanying schedules to confirm accuracy and completeness
- Analyze new or non-routine transactions, interpret relevant accounting guidance, and document conclusions for internal records
- Reinforce and monitor compliance with internal control frameworks and corporate governance requirements
- Contribute to the annual planning cycle by assisting with budget preparation, forecast updates, and alignment with financial models
