Job summary

Charles IT is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations, ensure timely financial reporting, and build scalable processes that support the company’s expansion. This role will partner cross-functionally to provide reliable insights, maintain a strong control environment, and develop a high‑performing team.

You will own monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, review entries and reconciliations, and coordinate external audits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive accounting experience with 1–2 years in a leadership role
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Experience managing month-end close and producing accurate financial statements
• Experience working with auditors and managing audit processes
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

• Review journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Prepare and review financial statements, supporting schedules, and variance analyses
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls
• Coordinate with external audits; prepare audit schedules
• Lead and develop accounting team members
• Improve processes for scalability, automation, and efficiency
• Oversee balance sheet accounts: cash, AR, AP, prepaid expenses, liabilities
• Monitor working capital and cash flow forecasting
• Collaborate with FP&A, HR, Sales, Operations on accounting matters
• Identify gaps, risks, and control weaknesses; implement improvements
• Support system enhancements and ERP integrations
• Maintain documentation for policies and audit readiness

Due to growth we are seeking an Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and build scalable processes that support the company’s continued expansion. This role will partner cross-functionally to provide reliable financial insights, maintain a strong control environment, and develop a high‑performing accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations to maintain integrity of the general ledger
• Prepare and review financial statements, supporting schedules, and variance analysis for leadership
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and financial controls
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits; prepare audit schedules and support requests
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members; assign work, review outputs, and provide feedback
• Build and improve accounting processes to support scalability, automation, and efficiency
• Oversee balance sheet accounts including cash, AR, AP, prepaid expenses, and liabilities
• Monitor working capital, review aging reports, and support cash flow management and forecasting
• Partner with FP&A, HR, Sales, and Operations on accounting‑related matters (revenue recognition, payroll, benefits, etc.)
• Identify process gaps, risks, and control weaknesses; implement improvements and ensure compliance
• Support system enhancements, ERP improvements, and integrations tied to growth or acquisitions
• Maintain accurate documentation for policies, procedures, and audit readiness
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Experience managing month‑end close and producing accurate financial statements
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage workflows, and develop staff
• Experience working with auditors and managing audit processes
• Strong understanding of balance sheet management and working capital oversight
• Experience improving processes and implementing accounting controls
• Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems and system optimization efforts
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
