Job summary

Hackett Feinberg P.C. seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the firm’s accounting operations, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.

You’ll lead general ledger, client trust accounting, payroll, and financial reporting while driving month-end close and process improvements. In this role, you’ll monitor cash flow, administer IOLTA trust accounts, prepare journal entries, and manage payroll and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7–10 years of accounting management experience in law firm or professional services.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, payroll, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cash flow and manage firm bank accounts, wires, and ACH processes.
• Administer client trust (IOLTA) accounts in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Prepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and reconcile accounts monthly.
• Process bi-weekly payroll, manage 401(k), PTO, and employee benefits administration.
• Coordinate monthly/annual financial closings and prepare financial reports.
• Ensure GAAP and tax compliance, including 1099s and Business Use Tax filings.
• Identify and lead process improvements, including system transitions.

What You’ll Do
