Job summary

Veritas Management Group seeks a senior accounting leader to own accounting delivery for our client portfolio. You will lead the accounting team, run the monthly close, and review every set of books before delivery to ensure clients receive accurate, on-time financials. You will report to the Founder and CEO.

The role requires supervising staff, exercising GAAP expertise, and coordinating with outside tax preparers to maintain strong controls and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in accounting, including time as an accounting manager, controller, or senior accountant leading others.
• Experience running the close for multiple clients; outsourcing/CSA experience is a plus.
• Clear, professional communication with business owners and bankers.

Responsibilities

• Run the monthly close calendar for every client.
• Review reconciliations, financial statements, schedules, and reporting packages before delivery.
• Lead the accounting team: assign work, set priorities, coach staff.
• Prepare a one-page brief for the CFO before client meetings.
• Maintain close procedures, documentation, and internal controls.
• Serve as the accounting contact for client staff and coordinate with tax preparers.

Veritas Management Group is a fractional CFO and accounting firm based in Tulsa. We serve companies from $5M to $100M+ in revenue: law firms, healthcare and surgery centers, manufacturers, and multi-location businesses.

The role

You own accounting delivery for our client portfolio. You lead the accounting team, run the monthly close, and review every set of books before it goes out, so clients get accurate, on-time financials. You report to the Founder and CEO.

What you will do

• Run the monthly close calendar and deadlines for every client.
• Review reconciliations, financial statements, schedules, and reporting packages before delivery.
• Lead the accounting team: assign work, set priorities, run the weekly production meeting, coach and develop staff.
• Prepare a one-page brief for the CFO before each client meeting: results, cash, variances, A/R and A/P issues, risks, and recommended talking points.
• Catch accounting problems before they reach the client.
• Lead onboarding and cleanup projects for new clients.
• Maintain close procedures, documentation, and internal controls.
• Serve as the accounting contact for client staff, and coordinate with outside tax preparers.

What we are looking for

• Five or more years in accounting, including time as an accounting manager, controller, or senior accountant leading others.
• Experience running the close for several companies at once. Outsourced accounting or client accounting services experience is a strong plus.
• Strong financial statement and GAAP knowledge.
• QuickBooks Online experience. Sage Intacct or Odoo is a plus.
• Clear, professional communication with business owners, controllers, and bankers.
• CPA preferred, not required.
• Job costing, WIP, or trust accounting experience is a plus.

What success looks like

• Every client's books closed and delivered by business day 10.
• Routine accounting and staff questions resolved by you, without the CEO.
• Clean, documented work with little rework.
