Aesseal in Rockford, IL is seeking an Accounting Intern for a part-time, on-site role. You will support the finance team across accounts payable/receivable, cash management, and basic month-end tasks while gaining exposure to audits and budgeting.

Ideal candidates are pursuing or have completed an Associate degree in Accounting or Finance and are proficient with Excel, with strong attention to detail and integrity.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing, or recently completed, an Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field preferred.
• Foundational understanding of accounting concepts and a strong interest in developing practical accounting experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with particular emphasis on Excel.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: Support vendor account management and processing of purchase invoices.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate pricing or invoice discrepancies.
• Assist with employee expense reimbursements and preparation of ACH, check, and international wire payments.
• Accounts Receivable & Credit: Apply and allocate customer payments to balances and support reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve customer account discrepancies and balance disputes.
• Support collections for past-due balances and coordinate with Sales to resolve issues.
• Cash Management: Support daily bank and cash reconciliations and review bank activity.
• Assist with bank deposits and processing of customer credit card payments.
• Gain exposure to sales reporting, management accounting, audits, and budgeting; assist month-end close and journal postings.
