Akuna Capital is seeking a part-time Accounting Intern to join our Finance team in Chicago during the school year. You will work with experienced accountants on daily reconciliations, month-end close, and audit support, gaining hands-on exposure to a global trading firm.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (sophomore standing or above preferred).
• Solid grasp of basic accounting principles and financial statements.
• Proficient in MS Office with intermediate Excel skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Available to work ~15 hours per week in the Chicago office.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. (including CPT/OPT/STEM for F-1 students).

Responsibilities

• Perform daily bank reconciliations.
• Support month-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Investigate discrepancies and propose solutions with manager guidance.
• Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Support external audits.
• Take on ad hoc projects across the Finance team as they arise.
