Our client is looking for a Bookkeeper to join their team!

Responsibilities:

• Lead corporate accounting operations across all entities and locations, including the monthly close, consolidations, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and management reporting.
• Prepare, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including clear commentary, variance analysis, and insights that can be readily understood by operating leaders and executives.
• Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close calendars, ensuring deadlines are met and that entries, accruals, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and review procedures are complete and accurate.

• Oversee job cost accuracy, WIP reporting, over/under billed schedules, revenue recognition, percentage-of-completion accounting, and project profitability analysis.
• Establish, maintain, and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, controls, approval workflows, and documentation standards to safeguard company assets and reduce financial risk.
• Partner with Treasury, Finance, and operational leaders to support accurate cash accounting, banking-related reconciliations, cash reporting, working capital visibility, and timely resolution of reconciling items and accounting-related questions.
• Coordinate external audits, tax preparation, lender reporting, business licenses, sales and use tax, property tax, franchise tax, and other regulatory reporting requirements in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and improve accounting processes, reporting, controls, ERP workflows, dashboards, and close efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve system-related accounting issues.
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting teammates by providing training, guidance, accountability, staffing recommendations, and performance feedback to support high performance and career growth.
• Collaborate with regional and operations leaders to analyze variances, project performance, indirect cost activity, SG&A trends, margin drivers, and financial issues that impact business decisions.
• Lead or support special projects, acquisitions and integration activities, system implementations, reporting initiatives, policy rollouts, and other finance priorities as assigned.
• Maintains precision in reporting, reconciliations, controls, documentation, and follow-through.
• Identifies inefficiencies, standardizes workflows, strengthens controls, and supports scalable systems, reporting, and close processes.
• Communicates clearly and professionally with accounting teammates, operations leaders, executives, auditors, lenders, tax advisors, and external partners.
• Coaches, mentors, and builds capability within the accounting team while fostering accountability, collaboration, trust, and service excellence.
• Protects sensitive information, acts ethically, and earns trust through consistency, transparency, professionalism, and discretion.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.
• CPA strongly preferred; public accounting experience highly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior controller, assistant controller, or senior accounting leadership responsibility.
• Experience leading accounting operations in a multi-location, project-based, construction, restoration, or service organization strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting, consolidations, job costing, WIP reporting, revenue recognition, and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Demonstrated experience managing monthly close, audits, tax support, lender reporting, financial statement preparation, and process improvement initiatives.
• Experience with Sage Intacct or comparable ERP/accounting platforms preferred; ERP change, implementation, or optimization experience is a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, financial modeling, reporting tools, and data analysis.
