Job summary

Magyar Bank is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join the Finance team in Central New Jersey. You will reconcile bank balances to the general ledger, research discrepancies, and process accounts payable entries and checks. You’ll also assist with account research, audits, and related compliance tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; college accounting/finance courses preferred.
• 2–4 years related accounting experience desired.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and confidentiality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Reconciles bank balances to the general ledger and researches discrepancies.
• Processes accounts payable entries and checks.
• Provides general accounting support to other departments as needed.
• Back up finance staff and assist with audits and tax-related tasks as needed.
• Maintain Sales Tax Expenditure worksheet for UEZ reimbursement.
