Job summary

Thomas Sign & Awning in Clearwater, FL is seeking an Accounting Clerk to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing and Inventory Control.

The role supports the CFO, maintains financial records, processes transactions, prepares deposits, reconciles accounts and generates routine reports.

Candidates should have a high school diploma (associate degree preferred) and strong Excel and accounting software skills.

Qualifications

• Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable Clerk.
• Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
• Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software.
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Aptitude for numbers.
• Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks.
• Well organized.
• High school degree; Associate’s degree or relevant certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing and Inventory Control.
• Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
• Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements.
• Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.
• Enter transactions in database.
• Research, track and resolve accounting or documentation discrepancies.
• Inform management and compile reports.
• Perform job function using established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
• Process incoming sales orders, including change orders.
