Job summary

Community Health Partnership is seeking an Accounting Clerk to manage day-to-day financial transactions, posting, and reporting with accuracy. The role supports cross-functional workflows and acts as a backup for other accounting tasks.

The position offers hybrid work (remote and in-office) and potential for accelerated career growth within our finance team. Strong attention to detail and solid Microsoft Office skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher in accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years of proven accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Collect outstanding receivables through telephone and written communication daily.
  • Determine importance of issues learned from contact with customers and relay information to proper department for resolution.
  • Escalate overdue AR for additional collection efforts.
  • Analyze outstanding list and report to Supervisor with updated data.
  • Investigate and resolve issues interfering with the proper application of cash receipts, including inadequate (or missing) information on checks.
  • Provide follow up on identified issues and discrepancies.
  • Meet all daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines in the cash application process.
  • Prepare and interpret financial summaries and provide reports to management.
  • Verify and total accounts to ledgers and databases.
  • Maintain and generate reporting to identify delinquent accounts and other collection measurements.
  • Process journal entries and reconcile bank statements in comparison to general ledger.
  • Review and balance internal accounts, analyze variances, and prepare appropriate reports.

Education/Experience Required
  • Associate’s or higher degree in accounting or related field strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of proven accounting experience preferred
Skills Required
  • Knowledge of basic financial and accounting principles
  • Natural proficiency with math
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with aptitude to learn new systems
  • Ability to use a phone, photocopier, computer, and other electronic business tools and related software.
