Job summary

Archdiocese of Omaha seeks an Accounting and Auditing Intern to support the Finance Office with recurring and one-time projects, and to assist with parish/school financial reviews and potential on-site audits.

The role involves online preliminary audit checks, using QuickBooks to analyze reports for trends, and aiding remote and on-site audit field work, including accounts payable/receivable, assets, payroll, taxes and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled or a recent graduate pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or a closely related field.
• Minimum College Sophomore status required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct online preliminary audit checks for parishes and schools.
• Using QuickBooks, analyze financial reports and transactions for trends, accounting issues, and other relevant items when on-site.
• Assist with remote and on-site audit field work, including reviewing accounts payable and receivable; asset accounts; payroll and tax reporting; internal controls and cash handling procedures.
