Job summary

AOD is seeking an Accounting Intern in Southfield, MI to support day-to-day accounting tasks within the parish and school financial operations. The intern will assist with recordkeeping, reconciliations, reporting and data entry under the Accounting Manager guidance.

Candidates should be pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, have intermediate coursework, strong Excel skills, and an interest in nonprofit accounting and mission-driven work.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Completion of intermediate accounting coursework.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office applications.
• Familiarity with Sage and nonprofit accounting concepts.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end close activities with schedules and documentation.
• Assist with data entry and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Organize financial files and audit materials with strong internal controls.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable filing and scanning.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
• Uphold the values and mission of CCSEM and the Catholic Church.
