Job summary

Fabian Oil Inc. is 100% employee-owned through an ESOP and seeks an Accounting Associate to join our team. You will assist with reconciliations of inventory, bank accounts, and ledgers, and support tax returns and vendor reconciliations.

The role involves processing payments, daily transactions, and month-end activities, with opportunities to improve controls and procedures. Strong Excel skills and a 2-year degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Prev accounting or financial admin experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer software.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Willingness to take on additional responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly reconciliations of inventory, multiple bank accounts, and general ledger accounts.
• Support filing of monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual tax returns.
• Provide support for accounts payable functions, including invoice processing and vendor reconciliations.
• Process and reconcile daily transaction data (convenience store, delivery trucks).
• Post customer credits and reconcile credit card transactions.
• Assist with annual Tier II regulatory reporting.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies to ensure accurate records.
• Support month-end closing activities and maintain supporting documentation.
