Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable transactions accurately and timely.
• Review invoices and supporting documentation for proper approval and compliance.
• Maintain vendor records, including W-9 documentation and tax-related files.
• Assist with annual 1099 preparation and reporting.
• Support payment processing activities, including check runs and electronic payments.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting records.
• Assist with financial reporting and other accounting projects as needed.
• Ensure adherence to organizational accounting policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with internal departments to support efficient payment workflows.

** About the Opportunity**

The Cyperus Group is conducting a search on behalf of a well-established nonprofit organization dedicated to providing housing and supportive services throughout the New York metropolitan area. This organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Associate with a focus on Accounts Payable to join its finance team.

This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and has experience managing vendor payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting month-end and year-end accounting activities.

** Key Responsibilities**
