Job summary

Champion Credit Union is seeking an Accounting Associate to perform routine accounting activities in support of the credit union's financial operations. You will assist with general ledger reconciliations, accounts payable, financial reporting, and regulatory filings.

Responsibilities include fixed asset tracking, inventory management, and administrative purchasing; you will help prepare and post GL entries, support tax filings, and maintain records with confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in Accounting/Finance preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a financial institution required or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile designated general ledger accounts on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
  • Assist accounts payable processing and invoice payment workflows.
  • Purchase and manage supply orders for departments.
  • Reconcile corporate credit card statements.
  • Assist with fixed asset program and periodic inventory audits.
  • Prepare and post general ledger entries for financial reporting.
  • Assist with sales and use tax reporting requirements.
  • Support monthly updates to the ALM model and investment portfolio maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate supply inventory and non-capitalized asset records.
  • Assist with quarterly Call Report and annual vendor/tax filings.

Job Description StatementThe Accounting Associate performs routine accounting activities to support the accuracy and integrity of the credit union’s financial operations. This role assists with general ledger reconciliations, accounts payable processes, financial reporting, and regulatory filings. The position also supports inventory management, fixed asset tracking, and administrative purchasing functions.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReconcile designated general ledger accounts on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis as assigned.Support accounts payable processing, including initiating workflows and ensuring timely invoice payment.Purchase and manage supply orders for all departments.Reconcile corporate credit card statements.Assist with fixed asset program, and periodic inventory audits.Prepare and post general ledger entries in support of financial reporting.Assist with sales and use tax reporting requirements.Support monthly updates to the Asset Liability Management (ALM) model.Assist in maintaining the investment portfolio.Maintain accurate records of supply inventory and non-capitalized assets.Support preparation of the quarterly Call Report.Assist with annual vendor tax filings.Support annual personal property tax filings for applicable jurisdictions.
