Job summary

Champion Credit Union is seeking an Accounting Associate for a hybrid role in our Administrative Office in Canton, NC. You will perform routine accounting tasks including GL reconciliations, AP processing, financial reporting, and tax filings, while supporting inventory and asset tracking.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED with an associate degree preferred and at least two years in financial services.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a financial institution or equivalent.
  • Accounting experience including reconciliations, accounts payable, GL, or financial reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile designated general ledger accounts on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
  • Support accounts payable processing and timely invoice payment.
  • Purchase and manage supply orders for all departments.
  • Reconcile corporate credit card statements.
  • Assist with fixed asset program and periodic inventory audits.
  • Prepare and post general ledger entries for financial reporting.
  • Assist with sales and use tax reporting requirements.
  • Support monthly ALM model updates and investment portfolio records.
  • Maintain accurate records of supply inventory and non-capitalized assets.
  • Assist with quarterly Call Report and annual vendor tax filings.

This role assists with general ledger reconciliations, accounts payable processes, financial reporting, and regulatory filings. The position also supports inventory management, fixed asset tracking, and administrative purchasing functions.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities*** Reconcile designated general ledger accounts on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis as assigned.* Support accounts payable processing, including initiating workflows and ensuring timely invoice payment.* Purchase and manage supply orders for all departments.* Reconcile corporate credit card statements.* Assist with fixed asset program, and periodic inventory audits.* Prepare and post general ledger entries in support of financial reporting.* Assist with sales and use tax reporting requirements.* Support monthly updates to the Asset Liability Management (ALM) model.* Assist in maintaining the investment portfolio.* Maintain accurate records of supply inventory and non-capitalized assets.* Support preparation of the quarterly Call Report.* Assist with annual vendor tax filings.* Support annual personal property tax filings for applicable jurisdictions.
