Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting or relevant education with accounting experience.

• Moderate Excel skills, data entry, and lookups.
• Comfort learning new accounting systems; SAP is helpful but not required.
• Strong time management and ability to work independently.
• Willingness to learn and assist teammates across departments.

Responsibilities

• Enter and process 100-150 accounts payable invoices weekly.
• Create vouchers and input AP invoices into the ERP system.
• Research account coding and determine expense charges.
• Resolve invoice and coding questions using problem-solving skills.
• Assist with cash application and online disbursements for payables.
• Support expense report processing through Concur.
• Provide backup support for accounts receivable as needed.
• Handle a small volume of incoming phone calls.

The Accounting Specialist will primarily support accounts payable activities, including invoice entry and vendor-related processes, while working closely with other members of the finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enter and process approximately 100-150 accounts payable invoices each week.
• Create vouchers and enter accounts payable invoices into the ERP system.
• Research account coding and navigate the system to determine where expenses should be charged.
• Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve invoice and coding questions.
• Assist with cash application and manual online disbursements related to payables.
• Support expense report processing through Concur.
• Provide backup support for accounts receivable as needed.
• Assist with a small volume of incoming phone calls.

Requirements:

• Associate degree in Accounting or a combination of relevant education and accounting experience.
• Accounting experience and/or prior ERP system experience.
• Moderate Excel skills, including data entry and working within existing spreadsheets, with the aptitude to learn additional functions such as lookups.
• Comfort learning and working within accounting systems; SAP experience is helpful but not required.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Willingness to learn new responsibilities and assist other members of the accounting team when needed.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with employees across different departments.

Preferred:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
