Established mid‑sized company based in Austin, TX is hiring an Accounting Administrator for a key support role within the Accounting & Finance department. This individual will oversee the administrative preparation and maintenance of numerous accounting & finance deliverables, while supporting a dynamic Accounting team within a fast‑paced business environment. The position will play a critical role in developing awareness of new and existing accounting processes which affect stakeholders across the company, while building and maintaining relationships with cross‑functional teams. The Accounting Administrator will also support departmental leaders during special projects and key initiatives, while fulfilling ad‑hoc requests.

Please Note: This position will require 2‑to‑3 days in‑office per week, and the company headquarters is located near downtown Austin, Texas.

Specific job duties will include, although not be limited to the following:

  • Supporting and assisting with various accounting functions, including A/P, A/R, prepaids, fixed assets, cash and purchasing, amongst other areas.
  • Preparing initial drafts of key accounting documents, including financial statements, tax schedules, and internal reports by rolling forward the previous month or year’s files, while making note of potential changes for review.
  • Overseeing departmental timelines and checklists during monthly/quarterly close processes and financial statement preparation to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Supporting daily accounting operations by processing transactions, maintaining records and files, and responding to ad‑hoc requests.
  • Assisting with onboarding and administrative training of new hires within the Accounting department.
  • Assisting with coordination of the annual external audit, along with the annual budgeting process.
  • Coordinating and promoting effective communication between the accounting department and other teams across the company in order to facilitate accurate and timely financial accounting & reporting.
  • Serving as a key facilitator during process improvements, special projects, and other corporate initiatives.

To be considered, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Two or more (2+) years of relevant professional experience is needed. Prior experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Clerk, or similar role is a plus.
  • Associate’s Degree or higher is required, with significant Accounting/Finance coursework.
  • Basic understanding of accounting processes, systems, financial statements, and best practices is desirable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is needed, including strong Excel skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are needed, along with strong interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of organizational skills, with a resourceful, self‑starter mentality is desirable.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, along with attention to detail and accuracy.
