Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking an Accountant at the Division Headquarters Finance Department in Happy Valley, OR. The role involves data entry, journal prep, and processing accounts receivable and payable with a focus on accuracy and adherence to policy.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in accounting, a High School diploma or GED with preferred accounting credentials, and proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Shelby and Vivid experience is a plus, and confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of accounting experience.
• Associate or bachelor's degree or accounting certification preferred.
• Must be computer literate with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with Shelby and Vivid software preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and training of best practices.
• Journal preparation and data entry of Corps Accounts Receivable/Payable.
• Process check batches and review vouchers for policy and GL coding.
• Understand Chart of Accounts structure and coding conventions.
• Mentor Corps staff and assist with quarterly reconciliations.
• Generate financial reports and prepare reconciliation spreadsheets.
