Job summary

Department of Children and Families in Gainesville, FL, seeks an Accountant III to manage three local fund accounts in FLAIR, Quicken, and a local bank, making all corrections entries and ensuring accurate monthly reporting.

Responsibilities include documenting stop payments, coordinating banking entries, posting deposits, and reconciling monthly category reports. This is not a telework position and requires working on-site in Gainesville.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• At least one year of professional work experience.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures.
• Ability to prepare financial statements and reports.
• Ability to design and implement accounting systems.
• Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records.
• Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data.
• Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program.

Responsibilities

• This position will be responsible for managing three local fund accounts to FL AIR, Quicken and local bank, making all correcting entries to FLAIR.
• Coordinating with all involved areas in preparation of FLAIR and banking entries needed to adjust for stop payments.
• Verify mail log and post deposits from mail log.
• Prepare and reconcile monthly category reports with Quicken.
