Job description

The Finance Department at RBHA manages the agency’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency. The team includes the CFO, Controller, Finance Manager, Financial Reporting Analyst, Senior Accountant, and Staff Accountants I & II. Department responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, grants management, internal controls, accounts payable and receivable, audit preparation, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications- Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial systems
  • OR?an equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities that demonstrates the capacity to perform the essential functions of the position, as permitted by applicable regulatory standards.
  • Possession of a valid Virginia driver's license and a satisfactory driving record in accordance with agency policy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or equivalent certification
  • Experience in government or grant accounting

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position may provide informal guidance or training to other staff but does not function in a formal supervisory capacity.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. While this role may involve desk-based tasks, employees must be able to ambulate independently, operate a motor vehicle, and transition between office and field environments. Field-based responsibilities may include walking short distances, climbing stairs, and carrying essential work items such as a laptop.
  • Close concentration, visual attention and need for manual dexterity required.
  • Normal working conditions. Work is typically performed in a standard behavioral health environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards.
  • Staff may occasionally engage in behavior intervention strategies, such as verbal de-escalation or redirection, to support client safety and therapeutic goals.

Starting Salary Range $56,971.20 - $66,144.00
