Job summary

Transamerica is seeking an entry- to mid-level accountant to support financial reporting and analysis. You will perform basic accounting tasks, assist in preparing financial statements, and contribute to consolidation and reporting across multiple bases.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting (or equivalent) and up to 2 years of experience, with knowledge of investments, insurance products, premium, and tax. Hybrid work arrangement with some in-office collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent education/experience.
• Up to 2 years of experience, with degree.
• Working knowledge of accounting area (investments, insurance products, premium, tax).

Responsibilities

• Performs professional accounting work involving compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data.
• Reviews and audits expense reports to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
• Resolves questions and guides Accounting Specialists/Associates in their problem resolution.
• Handles and resolves complex or unique questions, problems, or assignments, exercising independent judgment and initiative on occasion.
• Drafts segments of statements and reports including assignments involving analysis of data.
• Prepares financial statements and/or work papers for multiple accounting bases.
• Explains to others how and why transactions were processed and reported.
