Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services seeks a Professional Accountant for a hybrid role in Irving, TX. You will work on revenue reporting, billing, and financial analysis, supporting month-end close and ad-hoc reports in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The assignment is a 6-month contract with possible hire, paying $23.00 per hour. In-office attendance is required once per month, with flexibility to balance priorities and meet tight deadlines while maintaining ASC 606 compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 1-3 years of general or operational accounting experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of billing experience.
• Experience reviewing and interpreting billable contracts is highly preferred.
• Experience with Oracle Financial Systems is highly preferred.
• Salesforce experience is a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, Data Tables, Queries.
• Experience with system conversions or client implementations is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

• Record revenue transactions in compliance with ASC 606 standards.
• Support month-end close activities, including manual billings, adjustments, Oracle uploads, accounts receivable reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and ad-hoc financial reports.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and escalation collection issues when needed.
• Partner with Legal, Sales, Operations, and Contract Management teams to review contracts and ensure accurate billing setup.
• Assist with system conversions, implementations, and process automation initiatives.
• Maintain ASC 606 documentation and prepare Future Backlog Billing reports for SEC disclosures.
• Manage large data sets, including queries, imports, exports, and reporting activities.
• Support internal and external audit requests.
• Analyze billing data to identify trends and process improvement opportunities.
• Resolve billing issues promptly to support Sales and Client Account teams.
• Participate in special projects and ad-hoc assignments as needed.

Professional Accountant

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM CST

Overtime required during month-end close periods.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 1-3 years of general or operational accounting experience (high-volume or large-company experience preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of billing experience.
• Experience reviewing and interpreting billable contracts is highly preferred.
• Strong business acumen and technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience with Oracle Financial Systems is highly preferred.
• Salesforce experience is a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
