Job summary

Vaco by Highspring seeks a Project Accountant (Construction & AIA Billing) to support accounting through accurate AIA billing, AR management, and general accounting tasks for construction and environmental services.

The role is on-site in Alpharetta, GA, with a Monday–Friday schedule and a start time of 8/9am. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred, and NetSuite experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of AIA Billing experience in construction
• 3–5+ years in Construction or Environmental Services industry
• Proficient Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
• Experience with NetSuite is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Process 100-200 invoices per billing cycle with a high degree of accuracy
• Collaborate with sales coordinators and project managers to review sales orders and input data into billing invoices

Project Accountant (Construction & AIA Billing - Required)

Location: Alpharetta, GA

Compensation: $65,000-75,000/year salary range

The Accountant plays a key role in supporting the accounting function through accurate AIA billing, accounts receivable management, and general accounting support. This position works closely with sales coordinators, project teams, and the broader accounting department to ensure timely and precise financial processing across construction and commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable / AIA Billing

• Process 100-200 invoices per billing cycle with a high degree of accuracy.
• Collaborate with sales coordinators, project managers to review sales orders and input data into billing invoices.
• Manage construction progress billing (WIP billing), including tracking project milestones and preparing progress payment applications.
• Handle maintenance billing for commercial landscaping & construction services.
• Process and reconcile credit card transactions.
• AR Aging analysis - monitor outstanding receivables and support collection efforts as needed.

Accounts Payable & Accounting Duties

• Book AP entries, including vendor invoices, expense reports, and other payables.
• Assist with general operational accounting tasks to support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain organized documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of AIA Billing experience at a mid-sized construction organization (required)
• 3-5+ years of Construction or Environmental Services Industry (Required)
• Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data organization) (required)
• Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and manage multiple priorities.
