Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Engineering team in the Baskin Ridge, NJ area. This full-time role supports monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting across project-based accounting.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with IT proficiency, including Excel.

Our client is a well-established engineering and professional services organization seeking a Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who wants to build on their experience, expand their skill set, and take on increasing responsibility within a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across general accounting, financial reporting, and cash management functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Analyze general ledger activity and research discrepancies
• Assist with financial statements and management reporting
• Monitor cash balances and assist with cash forecasting
• Support audits, tax filings, and other financial reporting requirements

• Experience with project accounting, audits, and/or multi-entity accounting
