Job summary

LanceSoft, based in Torrance, CA, seeks a skilled Senior Accountant to manage month-end close, journal entries, consolidations, and reconciliations in line with GAAP and SOX.

You will collaborate with the AR, AP, and Tax teams, perform variance analysis, prepare reports, and support internal auditors while upholding strong internal controls and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred.
• At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably corporate and with increasing responsibilities.
• Proficient in Excel Pivot Tables and V-lookup.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close including general ledger entries, consolidation, and reconciliations per SOX and GAAP.
• Review and process intercompany/intracompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Coordinate cash and tax journal entries with AR, AP, and Tax teams.
• Participate in variance analysis and month/quarter-end statistics.
• Develop spreadsheet reports and verify data accuracy.

Enter Job Description... Establishes and maintains the general accounting reporting and practices for the organization. Manages and analyzes financial information to prepare necessary journal entries and reconciliations to accurately state ledgers and financial statements in accordance with regulation (e.G., GAAP). The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, strong knowledge of accounting principles, and excellent attention to detail.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform month-end close including general ledger journal entries, consolidation, and account reconciliations in conformance with SOX and GAAP.
• Reviews and processes Intercompany/Intracompany transactions and completes reconciliations.
• Takes ownership and serves as Coordinator for both cash and tax journal entries by working in collaboration with AR, AP, and Tax.
• Actively participates in variance analysis activities and preparation of statistics during month & quarter-end close process.
• Analyzes information by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.
• Thinks through and analyzes complex problems, challenges and drives to root cause.
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Supports internal auditors with requests.
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Maintains financial security by ensuring strong internal controls.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities internal and external; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Performs ad hoc reporting and other month-end tasks and duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting, with exposure to other business functions, preferably in a corporate setting and with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Proficient in Excel Pivot Tables / V-lookup.
• Strong knowledge of Accounting principles (GAAP), Reporting Skills, & SOX.
• Microsoft D365 experience a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail;is committed to excellence and understands how daily work impacts the customer.
