Job description

The Financial Accountant supports the Controller and accounting team by analyzing financial data, preparing accurate reports, and maintaining the integrity of financial records and transactions. This role ensures compliance with GAAP standards and supports month-end and year-end close activities while identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile general ledger entries and supporting documentation
• Assist with monthly financial reports and key metrics using Excel and Aderant
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve cash or accounts payable discrepancies
• Maintain accurate financial records, fixed assets, and support annual reporting
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and billing issues
• Collaborate with other departments on accounting-related matters
• Prepare 1099-year end reporting and cross-train across accounting functions
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, or 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of bank reconciliations and banking statement analysis
• Experience recording payroll in the general ledger, including payroll journal entry imports and balancing activities
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines
