Job summary

Vagaro is hiring an entry-level Accountant in Pleasanton, CA to support day-to-day transactions, reconciliations, and reporting. You will build a foundation in month-end close, GL fundamentals, and internal controls as part of the accounting team.

This role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting or related field and 2+ years of experience, with proficiency in Excel and appetite to learn NetSuite or similar ERP systems. Onsite work Monday–Friday.

• Prepares monthly accounting entries and reconciliations, including fixed assets, leases, software capitalization, prepaids, accruals, and inventory.
• Prepares tax filings and helps keep entities compliant with state and local tax laws.
• Assist in accounting process and policy documentation and improve efficiency.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses for accounting management.
• Assist in compiling schedules and documentation for external auditors.
• Perform general accounting and clerical functions to support the accounting team.

The Accountant supports the accounting team with day-to-day transactional, reconciliation, and reporting activities that keep the company's financial records accurate and audit ready. This is an entry-level position for someone early in their accounting career who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to build a strong foundation in month-end close, reconciliations, and general ledger fundamentals.

* This role is based onsite in Pleasanton, CA Monday through Friday*

Compensation

• Base Annual Salary: $70,000 - $85,000
• Annual Bonus: Up to 10%

Your Impact

• Prepares monthly accounting entries and reconciliations, including fixed assets, leases, software capitalization, prepaids, accruals, and inventory, ensuring they are ready for manager's review.
• Prepares tax filings (Sales and Use Tax, Property Tax, Business License Tax, Gross Receipts Tax) and helps keep entities compliant with applicable state and local tax laws.
• Assist in accounting process and policy documentation and help identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses as requested by accounting management.
• Assist in compiling schedules and documentation requested by external auditors
• Perform general accounting and clerical functions to support the broader accounting team.
• Special projects as assigned.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance required.
• 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; relevant internship experience will be considered.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and MS Office required; comfort with formulas, pivot tables, and organizing data.
• Exposure to NetSuite or similar accounting/ERP software is a plus.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and general ledger fundamentals.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; team player with a can-do attitude.
• Strong time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven problem-solving skills and a willingness to ask questions and learn.
