Ascendo is on the lookout for a detail-driven, experienced Accountant.

This role plays a key part in maintaining our financial integrity, supporting both day-to-day operations and broader strategic decisions. You’ll be hands-on with everything from journal entries to vendor relations—no two days are the same.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Preparing accurate, timely financial statements and reports in line with accounting standards
• Handling account reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data
• Partnering with internal teams to manage bids, track expenses, and handle purchase orders
• Overseeing accounts receivable and accounts payable to ensure vendors and suppliers are paid on time
• Collaborating with HR on cross-functional projects and financial documentation
• Performing technical accounting tasks like journal entries and month-end adjustments
• Assisting with external audits by providing reports, reconciliations, and explanations as needed
• Communicating with vendors on quotes, deliveries, and financial follow-ups

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA a bonus but not required)
• Solid experience in accounting or finance—experience in public accounting is a plus
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, financial reporting, and technical accounting concepts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and QuickBooks
• Familiarity with the construction industry is highly desirable
• Great attention to detail and solid organizational skills
• A proactive approach—you’re just as comfortable working independently as you are collaborating with a team
• Strong communication skills—you can clearly explain complex financial info to non-financial stakeholders
