Job summary

Financial Talent Group is seeking a Senior Accountant in Colorado Springs to own accounting and financial reporting for a newly created division. You will partner with Accounting, Operations and other teams to strengthen processes as the company scales.

The role requires 5+ years of full-cycle accounting, U.S. GAAP expertise, and hands-on month-end close experience across multiple entities. CPA preferred; on-site schedule Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience with multiple entities and intercompany transactions.
  • Public company/SEC exposure preferred.
  • Active CPA strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead accounting and financial reporting for assigned operating entities.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports and analyze key financial metrics.
  • Manage vendor accounting and related operating expenses.
  • Oversee contracts accounting and payment processing.
  • Month-end and year-end close; prepare reconciliations.

About the Organization

Our client is a rapidly growing organization within the hospitality and entertainment industry. With continued expansion and increasing operational complexity, the company is investing in its accounting infrastructure and adding a Senior Accountant to support continued growth.

This is a newly created position due to company growth and offers significant exposure to accounting operations, financial reporting, multiple entities, and cross-functional business partners.

The environment is fast-paced, entrepreneurial, collaborative, and growth-oriented. The team values accountability, accuracy, initiative, continuous improvement, and individuals who are comfortable taking ownership of their work.

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Compensation:

$80,000–$95,000 + Stock Options

Accounting Manager

What you will be doing as the Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager and take significant ownership of accounting and financial reporting for the newly created division and related entities.

This individual will work closely with Accounting, Operations, and other business teams while helping strengthen processes and accounting infrastructure as the organization continues to scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead accounting and financial reporting activities for assigned operating entities.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports and analyze key financial metrics.
  • Perform accounting related to event and show settlements, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Manage vendor accounting and related operating expenses.
  • Oversee financial administration associated with contracts, including documentation and payment processing.
  • Complete daily, monthly, and annual general accounting activities.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and play a key role in month-end and year-end close.
  • Manage accounting and reconciliations involving multiple entities and intercompany transactions.
  • Provide accounting support and financial oversight to operational teams.
  • Maintain accounting oversight for contracts, deposits, settlement workbooks, pre-opening expenses, budget-to-actual reporting, construction costs, and furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and appropriately supported.
  • Assist with financial analysis, reporting, process improvements, and special accounting projects.
What you will need to be successful as the Senior Accountant
  • Strong employment tenure with a demonstrated record of stability and career progression.
  • A collaborative, relationship-focused working style.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • A public accounting foundation and active CPA, preferably followed by corporate accounting experience.
  • Strong hands-on month-end close experience involving multiple companies, entities, or business units.
  • Experience working within a larger, sophisticated accounting environment.
  • Exposure to a publicly traded company environment is highly preferred.
  • The ability to work independently and proactively without waiting for direction.
  • Comfort working in a rapidly changing, fast-moving organization.
  • A plug-and-play mentality with the ability to quickly understand the business, take ownership, and add value.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and U.S. GAAP.
  • Significant hands-on month-end and year-end close experience.
  • Experience preparing financial statements, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Experience with multiple entities and intercompany transactions strongly preferred.
  • Experience within a larger-company accounting environment required.
  • Public accounting experience highly preferred.
  • Active CPA strongly preferred.
  • Public-company and/or SEC reporting exposure preferred.
  • Experience reviewing contracts, invoices, vendor activity, and supporting documentation.
  • Experience with budget-to-actual reporting, construction accounting, FFE, contract accounting, event accounting, hospitality, entertainment, or operations is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented while able to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take ownership.
  • Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and pride in work quality.
  • Experience working with an ERP system.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
