The City of Chesapeake is seeking an Account Technician to support financial and administrative operations. You will ensure accuracy and timely processing of accounting data for services related to children, families, and community partners.
Key duties include handling accounts, payments, reconciliations, reports, and data entry while maintaining strong customer service and collaboration with the team.
Monday-Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.

Required Qualifications
VOCATIONAL / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT : Requires high school diploma or GED / HSE and any combination of education and experience equivalent to satisfactory completion of one year of college education in accounting or related field
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT : In addition to satisfying the vocational/educational standard, this class requires a minimum of one year of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES : Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record in compliance with City Driving Standards.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
