We are seeking an ambitious, results-driven Account Manager with deep fuel industry knowledge to take complete ownership of our Chicago market. This is a remote, field-based position with your primary hub centered out of Kankakee, IL. In this role, the position is exactly what you make it out to be. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Established Accounts: Serve as the primary, trusted point of contact for our current Chicago client base. Conduct regular face-to-face field visits to ensure high satisfaction, manage contract renewals, and upsell bulk fuel, fleet fueling, and lubricants.
- Resurrect "Dead" Accounts: Analyze historical data to identify dormant accounts across the region. Strategically re-engage them, resolve past friction points, and successfully bring them back into the fold.
- Execute Local Marketing: Partner with internal corporate resources to maximize localized marketing budgets. Deploy targeted campaigns, distribute promotional materials, and build regional brand presence.
- Maximize Territory Efficiency: Use your company vehicle to strategically cover the Greater Chicago area, using Markham as your operational field anchor. Optimize your travel route to balance high-touch client care with active prospecting.
Requirements
- Industry Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the bulk fuel, petroleum, fleet fueling, or lubricants industry. Deep knowledge of fuel pricing, dynamics, logistics, and commercial fueling needs is strictly required.
- Diverse B2B Sales Track Record: Comfortable building relationships across all types of customers, from corporate fleet managers and construction foremen to agricultural buyers and industrial plant operators.
- Local Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the geography, major transit corridors, and industrial hubs of the Chicago metro area.
- Clean Driving Record: A valid driver's license is required to safely operate the company-provided vehicle.
