Job Description

Title: Account Manager - Commercial Lines - Remote (Eastern and Central Time Zones only, based in Longwood, FL) - Focus on General/Small Accounts

Role Overview: Manage an assigned book of business to ensure account retention and support new business. Coordinate daily administrative and customer service activities, resolve complex issues, and maintain accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
  2. Lead the daily activities of the account management team.
  3. Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
  4. Manage policy expirations and renewals.
  5. Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals during renewal processes.
  6. Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on delinquent accounts, and collect outstanding balances.
  7. Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy.
  8. Monitor activities and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  9. Communicate regularly with the account team regarding workload and issues.
  10. Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipate client needs, and respond promptly.
  11. Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
  12. Seek continuous improvement and adopt best practices.
  13. Demonstrate integrity and leadership aligned with IOA values.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of account management experience or 5+ years in the insurance industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs.
  • Active insurance license required; professional designation (CIC or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
