ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is looking for Account Executives to join our Public Sector Central team in one or more of the following states: Indiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, or Alabama. The position requires frequent travel up to 30% to 50%, including overnight stays.

The Account Executive is responsible for generating new business by utilizing a consultative sales approach to develop leads and relationships with potential utility and public sector clients leading to new revenue business with appropriate gross margins. The Account Executive must discover and understand utility and the customers’ needs and concerns and, working closely with the operations team, translate those into feasible, installable solutions. The Account Executive communicates directly with both the Company’s and the prospective customers’ leadership, engineers, project managers, contract specialists, and other technical representatives. In addition, the Account Executive will be involved in the development of financial solutions for the customer and engaging market segment customer leadership to understand strategic opportunities as input to the Public Sector team’s long-term plans and targets.

The essential functions of the position include:

  1. Prospect for new business, including working trade shows, researching via publications and the internet, involvement with numerous organizations, and making cold calls and more.
  2. Develop thorough knowledge of renewable energy industry, structure, opportunities, trends, and issues.
  3. Cultivate effective business relationships and communicate the full scope of solutions to meet customer business goals and achieve sales objectives, volume, and market share.
  4. Open communication lines with customers to understand needs and concerns and ensure that our solutions are in accordance with their goals.
  5. Meet standards for activities and results, including the number of first calls, number of letters of authorization or intent, amount of sales and, ultimately, gross margin dollar goals.
  6. Prepare and present professional proposals addressing all of the customers’ needs and concerns, including a financial proposal.
  7. Maintain customer contact throughout the installation period to resolve any additional needs and concerns that may arise.
  8. Monitor account plan progress, including market conditions, customer needs, and competitive activity.

Your background includes:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  2. Five or more (5+) years' industry experience selling large solutions; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

A bonus to have:

  1. Bachelor’s degree and six (6) to eight (8) years related energy services experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Familiarity with engineering/building trades and/or mechanical aptitude preferred.
