Job description

ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is seeking Account Executives to join our Public Sector Central team in Indiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, or Alabama. The role involves frequent travel, up to 30% to 50%, including overnight stays.

The Account Executive will generate new business using a consultative sales approach, developing leads and relationships with utility and public sector clients to drive revenue and maintain gross margins. They will understand customer needs, collaborate with the operations team to develop feasible solutions, and communicate with various stakeholders, including leadership, engineers, project managers, and contract specialists. The role also involves developing financial solutions and engaging with market segment leadership to identify strategic opportunities.

The essential functions include:
  1. Prospecting for new business through trade shows, research, organization involvement, cold calls, etc.
  2. Gaining comprehensive knowledge of the renewable energy industry, trends, and issues.
  3. Building effective business relationships and communicating solutions to meet customer goals.
  4. Maintaining open communication with customers to understand needs and ensure solutions align with their objectives.
  5. Meeting activity and result standards, including calls, letters of intent, sales, and gross margin goals.
  6. Preparing and presenting professional proposals, including financial aspects.
  7. Maintaining customer contact during installation to address additional needs.
  8. Monitoring account progress, market conditions, customer needs, and competitive activity.
Your background includes:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of industry experience selling large solutions or equivalent education and experience.
Preferred qualifications:
  • 6-8 years of energy services experience or related training; or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with engineering/building trades or mechanical aptitude preferred.
