Job description

ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP

is looking for Account Executives to join our Public Sector Central team in one or more of the following states: Indiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, or Alabama. The position requires frequent travel up to 30% to 50%, including overnight stays.

The Account Executive is responsible for generating new business by utilizing a consultative sales approach to develop leads and relationships with potential utility and public sector clients, leading to new revenue with appropriate gross margins. The role involves understanding utility and customer needs, translating those into feasible solutions in collaboration with the operations team, and communicating directly with various stakeholders including leadership, engineers, project managers, and contract specialists. Additionally, the Account Executive will develop financial solutions and engage with market segment leadership to identify strategic opportunities.

The essential functions of the position include:
  1. Prospecting for new business through trade shows, research, organizational involvement, cold calls, and more.
  2. Developing thorough knowledge of the renewable energy industry, including structure, opportunities, trends, and issues.
  3. Cultivating effective business relationships and communicating solutions to meet customer goals and achieve sales targets.
  4. Maintaining open communication with customers to understand needs and ensure solutions align with their goals.
  5. Meeting activity and results standards, including calls, letters of intent, sales, and gross margin goals.
  6. Preparing and presenting professional proposals that address customer needs, including financial aspects.
  7. Maintaining customer contact during installation to address additional needs or concerns.
  8. Monitoring account plan progress, market conditions, customer needs, and competitive activity.
Your background includes:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • Five or more (5+) years of industry experience selling large solutions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A bonus to have:
  • Bachelor's degree and six (6) to eight (8) years of related energy services experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination.
  • Familiarity with engineering/building trades and/or mechanical aptitude preferred.
