Job description

ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP

is seeking Account Executives to join our Public Sector Central team in one or more of the following states: Indiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, or Alabama. The role involves frequent travel, estimated at 30% to 50%, including overnight stays.

The Account Executive will generate new business through a consultative sales approach, developing leads and relationships with utility and public sector clients to secure revenue with appropriate gross margins. Responsibilities include understanding customer needs, working closely with the operations team to develop feasible solutions, and engaging with various stakeholders such as leadership, engineers, and project managers. The role also involves developing financial solutions and strategic market insights to support long-term planning.

Essential Functions:
  1. Prospect for new business via trade shows, research, and cold calls.
  2. Develop knowledge of the renewable energy industry, including trends and opportunities.
  3. Build effective business relationships and communicate solutions to meet customer goals.
  4. Maintain open communication to understand customer needs and concerns.
  5. Meet activity and sales result standards, including calls, proposals, and gross margin goals.
  6. Prepare and deliver professional proposals, including financial aspects.
  7. Maintain customer contact during installation to address additional needs.
  8. Monitor account plans, market conditions, and competitive activity.
Candidate Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • At least 5 years' experience in industry sales of large solutions, or equivalent education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6-8 years of energy services experience and/or training.
  • Familiarity with engineering, building trades, or mechanical aptitude.
