Atlas Global Talent is seeking an Account Executive for its Chattanooga operations to drive new shipper business in a hunter role. You’ll prospect, open doors and build profitable relationships while collaborating with internal teams to ensure service excellence.
The role emphasizes developing your own pipeline, engaging decision-makers and delivering tailored transportation solutions with a strong commission potential and base salary.
My client is an established logistics and transportation provider looking to add an experienced Account Executive to its Chattanooga operation. This is a new-business-focused position for someone who knows how to prospect, open doors and develop profitable shipper relationships within freight brokerage.
You'll have the infrastructure and operational backing of a large logistics organization behind you, while retaining the autonomy to build your own pipeline, develop customer relationships and grow your book.
With a $65,000 – $100,000 base salary plus commission, this is a strong opportunity for an experienced 3PL salesperson who wants the platform and support to increase their production.
As an Account Executive, your primary responsibility will be winning new shipper business.
You'll identify prospective customers, reach transportation and supply chain decision-makers, understand their freight requirements and develop solutions that fit their operation.
This is a genuine hunter role.
You'll be expected to consistently prospect, create opportunities and develop your own pipeline rather than simply manage an existing portfolio of customers.
Once you've secured business, you'll continue developing those relationships and work closely with internal operations teams to ensure customers receive the level of service required to retain and grow the account.
Prospect and develop new shipper accounts
Generate your own pipeline through consistent outbound business development
Identify companies with suitable transportation and logistics requirements
Engage Transportation Managers, Logistics Directors, Supply Chain leaders, Procurement teams and other key decision-makers
Conduct discovery conversations to understand customer freight requirements and challenges
Develop transportation solutions around individual customer needs
Prepare pricing and commercial proposals
Negotiate and close new business
Build long-term relationships with customers rather than focusing purely on transactional freight
Work closely with brokerage operations and carrier teams to ensure successful execution
Maintain regular communication with customers after implementation
Identify opportunities to increase shipment volume and grow existing accounts
Maintain accurate sales activity, opportunities and pipeline information within CRM
Work towards individual revenue and gross profit objectives
Stay informed on freight rates, capacity and wider market conditions
Attend customer meetings where face-to-face interaction can help develop or close an opportunity
My client is particularly interested in proven logistics salespeople who already understand how to create and close their own opportunities.
Ideally, you'll have:
Previous experience within freight brokerage, 3PL or transportation sales
A proven track record of winning new shipper customers
Strong prospecting and outbound business-development skills
Experience developing a consistent sales pipeline
Confidence speaking directly with transportation and supply chain decision-makers
Strong commercial and negotiation skills
Understanding of freight pricing, gross profit and margins
Knowledge of the US transportation market
Experience selling FTL, LTL and other domestic transportation solutions
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A proactive and self-motivated approach to sales
The persistence required to develop opportunities over longer sales cycles
Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, performance-driven environment
Existing shipper relationships or an active network within the Southeast transportation market would be highly advantageous.
$65,000 – $100,000 base salary, depending on experience and previous production
Additional commission / incentive earning potential
Medical insurance options
Dental coverage
Vision coverage
Life and AD&D insurance
Disability coverage
401(k) with employer matching
Paid time off
Full-time permanent position
Training and ongoing development
Long-term career progression opportunities
This opportunity gives you the ability to operate as a genuine new-business salesperson while having an established logistics infrastructure behind you.
Rather than spending your time worrying about whether the business can execute what you've sold, you'll have operational and carrier resources available to support your customers while you concentrate on developing relationships and generating revenue.
You'll have the freedom to build your own pipeline, pursue new shipper relationships and create a substantial book of business.
For an experienced freight salesperson who enjoys the hunt, the conversations and ultimately winning new customers, this could be a very strong next move.
