Atlas Global Talent is seeking a Sales Executive / Account Manager in downtown Chicago. This hybrid role combines new-business development with ongoing account management, focusing on shipper relationships and revenue growth.
You’ll prospect, negotiate and close new business, then remain the primary contact to expand lanes, volumes and opportunities while coordinating with internal teams to service accounts.
My client is a growing US logistics and transportation provider looking to add an experienced Sales Executive / Account Manager to its downtown Chicago team. This is a hybrid commercial role combining new business development with ongoing account management. You'll be responsible for winning new shipper customers, but unlike a pure hunter position, you'll continue owning and developing those relationships once the business is secured.
The company provides transportation and logistics solutions to customers across the US, with a strong focus on responsive service, competitive pricing and long-term customer relationships.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys selling but doesn't want to simply hand their customers over once they've closed the deal.
You'll manage the complete commercial relationship with your customers.
On the sales side, you'll prospect, create opportunities, speak with transportation and supply chain decision-makers, develop solutions, negotiate and close new business.
On the account management side, you'll remain the primary commercial contact for those customers, ensuring service expectations are met while identifying additional lanes, volume and opportunities to grow each account.
You'll be supported by internal carrier and operations teams responsible for helping execute the freight, allowing you to maintain your focus on customer relationships, revenue and account growth.
An existing network of shipper relationships would be highly advantageous, but my client is equally interested in someone who has demonstrated the ability to build a book from the ground up.
This role gives you the best of both sides of freight sales.
You'll still have the opportunity to hunt, prospect and win new business, but you won't be expected to walk away from the relationships you've worked hard to develop once the account is secured.
You'll retain commercial ownership of your customers, build deeper relationships and benefit from growing those accounts over time.
With a $65,000 - $100,000 base salary plus additional earning potential, you'll have the opportunity to build a substantial portfolio while being supported by an established logistics operation.
If you're currently working within freight brokerage, 3PL or transportation and want a position that combines new business sales with genuine account ownership, I'd be happy to have a confidential conversation.
My client is particularly interested in commercially minded logistics professionals who enjoy winning customers just as much as they enjoy developing and retaining them.
