Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Account Compliance Manager based in the United States.

Join a dynamic, technology-driven environment focused on protecting subscription-based software services and ensuring account integrity. As an Account Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in identifying unauthorized account usage, investigating suspicious activity, and implementing effective fraud prevention measures. You will combine analytical thinking, customer communication, and account management to minimize compliance risks and protect legitimate users. Working closely with internal teams, you will help strengthen security processes, improve abuse detection strategies, and support ongoing investigations. The role also offers opportunities to resolve account issues, identify upselling opportunities, and contribute to business growth. This remote, full-time position is ideal for a proactive professional who values accuracy, customer relationships, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities
  • Account Monitoring and Compliance: Monitor subscription-based accounts to detect unauthorized access, illegal usage, and suspicious activity. Implement appropriate account restrictions, limits, and resets to prevent abuse and maintain compliance with internal policies.

  • Account Recovery and Management: Reset compromised accounts, issue temporary credentials, and restore secure access for legitimate customers. Identify opportunities to retain customers and generate additional revenue through appropriate upselling initiatives.

  • Customer and User Communication: Contact legitimate customers to explain unauthorized usage, clarify account status, and resolve issues professionally. Communicate with unauthorized users regarding violations and instruct them to discontinue prohibited access.

  • Online Monitoring and Investigations: Monitor online marketplaces, forums, and other digital channels for the illegal sale or distribution of software. Gather relevant evidence and escalated findings to the appropriate legal teams or authorities when necessary.

  • Data Analysis and Abuse Prevention: Analyze usage reports, investigate suspicious activity, identify recurring abuse patterns, and contribute to the development of strategies that strengthen account security and prevent future violations.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with compliance, sales, legal, and other internal teams to investigate incidents, share insights, refine detection methods, and identify potential leads arising from account resets and compliance activities.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of investigations, customer communications, account changes, and resolutions. Ensure all actions comply with company policies, security standards, and applicable legal requirements.

  • Market Intelligence and Process Improvement: Monitor industry developments, identify emerging compliance risks, participate in relevant industry events when needed, and communicate future compliance needs and recommendations to management.

Requirements
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in business, information technology, or a related field is preferred.

  • Professional Experience: At least two years of experience in account management, compliance, customer service, or a related position. Experience in software, subscription-based services, or the automotive aftermarket industry is an advantage.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiarity with CRM platforms, subscription management systems, account administration, and basic internet security practices is beneficial.

  • Analytical and Investigative Abilities: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret usage data, identify suspicious patterns, investigate potential violations, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

  • Communication and Conflict Resolution: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and professionally to customers and unauthorized users. Customer service experience and the ability to manage difficult conversations are valuable.

  • Compliance Awareness: A working understanding of software compliance, unauthorized digital distribution, internet security, and relevant policies or regulations. Experience documenting incidents or reporting illegal online activity is a plus.

  • Organization and Prioritization: The ability to manage multiple investigations, deadlines, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accurate documentation and consistent follow-through.

  • Professionalism and Collaboration: A proactive, adaptable, and discreet approach to handling sensitive information. Candidates should be comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and contributing to shared compliance objectives.

Benefits
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.

  • Fully remote work environment within the United States.

  • Supportive, collaborative team culture.

  • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.

  • Career advancement opportunities within a growing technology business.

  • The opportunity to contribute directly to software security, customer protection, and compliance improvement initiatives.
