Starting Salary Range: $43,662– $47,610, commensurate with experience.

Summary
This position manages student accommodation requests and confidential records, coordinates communication among students, faculty, staff, and the University Student Accessibility Services Committee (USASC), and helps ensure compliance with institutional policies and applicable laws. The position collaborates with Testing Services to provide accommodated exam proctoring; supports academically at-risk students through assessments, individualized recommendations, targeted interventions, progress monitoring, and follow-up. Conduct workshops and training related to retention support services for key stakeholders, in addition to educating administrators, faculty, staff, and students about their responsibilities for providing accommodations, in compliance with the ADA, and collaboration with the Title IX staff. The coordinator also analyzes student and accommodation data, prepares operational, accreditation, and annual reports, identifies trends and opportunities for improvement, and provides leadership for departmental retention, progression, and assessment initiatives.
Principal Functional Responsibilities
- Student Accommodation Requests: Serve as the primary coordinator of operations related to student accommodation requests, in alignment with the office’s liaison support to the USASC. Related responsibilities include but aren’t limited to: Facilitate meetings with respective students who request accommodation; manage case files and paperwork required for monitoring these services for students in a confidential and yearly manner; assist with the scheduling and facilitation of USASC meetings, agendas, and notes; communicate decisions to students, faculty, and respective campus employees to support the accommodation logistics; and collaborate with and educate University personnel to enhance the services and policies associated with assisting student accommodations in accordance with institutional policies and law.
- Exam proctoring: Collaborate with the Testing Services staff to administer and proctor examinations testing for accommodated students with an accommodation.
- Retention Support Services: Collaborate with departmental staff and college stakeholders to facilitate retention support services. Related responsibilities include but aren’t limited to: investigate and collaborate on how software or processes can be maximized to identify and support academically at-risk students; administer and interpret academic skills and learning assessments for students experiencing or at risk for academic difficulty, including assessments related to executive functioning, study strategies, time management, metacognition, and self-regulated learning. Provide findings and recommendations to any respective learning specialist(s) to assist in identifying areas of need, developing targeted interventions, and supporting individualized student success plan, monitoring progress and determining appropriate follow-up supports.
- Trainings and Workshops: Conduct workshops and training related to retention support services for key stakeholders, in addition to educating administrators, faculty, staff, and students about their responsibilities for providing accommodations, in compliance with the ADA, and collaboration with the Title IX staff.
- Department Administration: Perform data entry and analysis of student requests and approved accommodations to share with relevant campus stakeholders, annual reporting and accreditation data requests. Provide leadership regarding retention and progression initiatives to attain key annual objectives for the department. Assist in preparation of operational reports and analyses to identify progress, adverse trends, and recommendations for strategic and efficient approaches. Collaborating with departmental staff related to the development and sustainability of an office assessment plan.
- Miscellaneous Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, psychology, or a relevant field.
- Two (2) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in higher education administration, counseling, educational psychology, higher education, student affairs, special education, basic sciences or related field.
- Experience with Maxient software for case management.
- Experience with Canvas, or related Learning Management Software.
- Experience providing diagnostic/prescriptive advising and learning skills assistance; experience in presenting workshops related to accommodations support; experience supporting students with disabilities and/or providing accessibility services and support.
- Experience working in post-secondary education setting preferably with medical professionals related to advising and supporting neurodivergent student learners.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and other office equipment. Ability to work flexible hours to support all activities of the office.
