Job summary

Volunteer State Community College seeks a Coordinator of Accessible Technology to provide assistive technology support across locations and coordinate accommodated testing through the Access Center. The role ensures testing accommodations align with policies and accessibility standards.

Qualifications

• Strong end-user computer skills in hardware and software.
• Working knowledge of accessibility standards and disability law in higher education.
• Proven leadership abilities and project coordination experience.
• Experience scheduling and coordinating testing or similar services involving multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with disabilities in acquiring accessible materials and managing equipment loans.
• Train students and faculty in the use of assistive technologies for inclusive learning.
• Coordinate and proctor accommodated testing and testing schedules.
• Collaborate with IT, Web Design, and Distributed Education to promote universal access.
• Support compliance with WCAG 2.1, Section 508, and the ADAAA.
• Travel to regional campuses to provide assistive technology services as needed.
• Serve on committees and participate in professional development.
