The Disability Support Services Department at the State University of New York at Fredonia seeks a Test Center Coordinator and Accessibility Specialist to manage the test center, coordinate accommodations, proctoring, and related data, ensuring accessible testing for students with disabilities.

This full-time, 10-month position requires 3–5 years of office experience, knowledge of ADA laws, strong organization, confidentiality, and the ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and students

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of office experience, ideally in a higher education setting.
• Working knowledge of federal and state laws related to disability rights, including ADA, ADAA, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and their application to higher education
• Education, training, or experience in disability justice and models of disability
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
• Strong creativity and problem-solving skills, and ability to analyze various environments to determine access barriers and solutions
• Strong and clear interpersonal, written, and electronic communications skills, including the ability to convey complex information in accessible and meaningful terms to diverse audiences
• Ability to manage and maintain confidential and private information; uses confidential, sensitive and/or private records and information, protects information appropriately
• Ability to establish, build, and maintain effective student, staff, and faculty relationships based on respect, empathy, and cultural humility
• High level of comfort and fluency with computer applications and workplace technology, including the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues remotely
• Strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development as related to disability and equity in higher education
• Demonstrated commitment to the university, division, and profession.

Responsibilities

• Test Center and Accessible Testing Management: Manage the Test Center and general test accommodation data, including coordination of all test appointments, facilitation of specific test accommodations, and receipt and return of tests to faculty.
• Manage the Test Center proctoring infrastructure, including oversight of the proctoring system and direct test proctoring as needed.
• Maintain data collection and analysis related to Test Center use and trends; regularly update DSS team and campus community on these data points as needed.
• Create, revise, communicate and enforce Test Center policies and procedures to students, student employees, faculty, and staff including confidential handling of tests and exams.
• Educate students and faculty on best practices in accommodated testing and Test Center utilization.
• Communicate and problem solve with faculty and staff to effectively facilitate test-related accommodations in the Test Center facility.
• Be open to a flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Maintain the Test Center facility, computers, and associated assistive technology.
• Respond to unexpected scenarios that impact the Test Center.
