Responsibilities

  • Greet guests and represent Accessibility Services professionally at all times.
  • Answer multi-line phone system, screen calls, and take detailed messages.
  • Assist students with scheduling exams in the Testing Center.
  • Assist faculty with timely return of completed exams.
  • Provide support to Testing Center Proctors as needed.
  • Design and create posters/flyers for campus events and campaigns.
  • Create dynamic content for social media postings for programs and updates.

Job description

The Accessibility Services Office Assistant will assist in the daily operations of the Office of Accessibility Services as well as the Testing Center.

  • Greet all guests to the office warmly and represent Accessibility Services professionally at all times, including interacting appropriately with students, faculty, staff, and parents/guests.
  • Recognize when a question or concern requires the assistance of professional staff and appropriately escape matters that fall outside the student employee’s role.
  • Answer the multi-line phone system, screen calls, distribute calls as appropriate, or take detailed messages when necessary.
  • Assist students with scheduling exams in the Testing Center in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Accessibility Services.
  • Assist faculty in the timely return of their completed exams.
  • Provide support to the Testing Center Exam Proctors by covering shifts in the Testing Center as needed.
  • Design and create engaging posters/flyers for poster campaigns around campus to market events.
  • Create dynamic content for social media postings for programs, events, office updates, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and stocked snack station.
  • Perform photocopying, filing, and clerical duties as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Must have a Federal Work-Study Award.
  • Must be a current Stonehill student in their Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year and in good academic standing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of campus resources.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Solid experience with using social media platforms.

  • Hours are determined based on student availability and office needs.
  • This is a full academic year position. Applicants should plan to be available for both Fall and Spring semesters.
