Job summary

The Frances Loeb Library at Harvard Graduate School of Design seeks a dedicated Access Services staff member for a full-time, one-year term. The role supports circulation, reference, and digital reserves while upholding high standards of customer service and security.

You will supervise student workers, coordinate circulation and information services, and assist with interlibrary loan and publications sales. Evening hours and occasional schedule adjustments may be required to meet semester needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; three+ years library or related customer service experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Prior supervisory, instructional, or managerial experience preferred.
• Experience with Ex Libris Alma and LibAnswers systems.
• Academic library experience preferred.
• College degree preferred.
• Ability to recruit, interview, and schedule student employees; train and provide feedback.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Access Services student employees and their schedules.
• Manage circulation activities and patron guidance on policies.
• Provide basic reference help and triage inquiries to research staff.
• Coordinate publications sales and inventory with the publications office.
• Assist with interlibrary loan and course reserves operations.
• Open and close library, enforce policies, and support security measures.
