Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory seeks a Mechanical Technician to support the MDE Mechanical Team in maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of accelerator mechanical systems, magnets and support structures. You will aid in beamline alignment, assemble/disassemble components, and maintain spares and maintenance records.

The role requires teamwork, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work in radiation areas while following ALARA principles.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electromechanical/mechanical or vacuum technology.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience at the 3 level; 5 years at the 4 level.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical systems.
• Assist in alignment metrology and use of diagnostic tools.
• Maintain maintenance database and spare parts inventory.
• Operate hand and shop tools safely.
