Job summary

Albany Medical College, part of the Albany Med Health System, seeks a board-certified or board-eligible Transplant Nephrologist to join a growing abdominal transplant program. The role blends transplant nephrology with general nephrology in a collaborative, academic setting.

You will participate in inpatient transplant care, outpatient clinics, and multidisciplinary rounds, contributing to program growth and education while maintaining patient-centered care and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Fellowship in Transplant Nephrology from an accredited program.
• MD/DO or equivalent with board certification or eligibility in Nephrology.
• Demonstrated clinical nephrology expertise.
• Eligible for NY medical licensure.
• Academic experience or interest for Assistant/Associate Professor.
• Strong communication and team-based care approach.
• Commitment to education, quality improvement, and transplant medicine advancement.

Responsibilities

• Provide a blended practice of transplant nephrology and general nephrology.
• Participate in inpatient transplant care and multidisciplinary rounds.
• Manage immunosuppression and graft function in kidney transplant recipients.
• Share transplant-related inpatient consults and nephrology call responsibilities.
• Engage in outpatient transplant clinics: pre/transplant evaluations, living donor and post-transplant follow-up.
• Contribute to organ offer reviews and recipient selection discussions.
• Participate in quality improvement and program development initiatives.
• Pursue academic collaboration and teaching with residents, fellows, and students.
