Job summary

Albany Medical College is seeking a board-certified or eligible Transplant Nephrologist to join its growing abdominal transplant program. This role combines transplant nephrology with general nephrology in a multidisciplinary academic health system.

The ideal candidate will participate in inpatient transplant care and multidisciplinary rounds, with involvement in outpatient clinics and donor evaluations. An academic appointment with teaching opportunities is available as the program expands.

Qualifications

• Fellowship training in Transplant Nephrology from an accredited transplant nephrology fellowship program.
• MD/DO or equivalent degree with board certification or eligibility in Nephrology
• Demonstrated clinical expertise in nephrology subspecialty care
• Eligible for medical licensure in New York
• Academic experience or interest sufficient for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach to care
• Commitment to education, quality improvement, and advancing transplant medicine

Responsibilities

• Inpatient transplant care and multidisciplinary rounds.
• Outpatient transplant clinics including pre-transplant evaluations and post-transplant follow-up.
• Immunosuppression management and graft function assessment.
• Participation in transplant recipient management across the continuum of care.
• Collaborative program development and teaching activities.
