Job summary

Capital Medical Group, affiliated with The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, seeks a fellowship-trained Spine Surgeon joining the Department of Orthopedic Surgery with a concurrent GW SMHS faculty appointment. Base salary plus wRVU productivity bonus and academic stipend, with teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students at an academic Level I Trauma Center.

Qualifications

• D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school with completed Orthopedic Surgery residency and fellowship in Spine Surgery.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible by ABOS
• Active or eligible DC medical license
• Eligible for GW Hospital privileges and GW SMHS faculty appointment

Responsibilities

• Evaluate cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine conditions.
• Perform minimally invasive and open spine surgery with decompression, fusion, instrumentation.
• Manage adult spinal deformity and complex revision surgeries.
• Provide spine trauma care in collaboration with Neurosurgery and Trauma Surgery.
• Participate in multidisciplinary spine conferences and coordinate with pain, physiatry, and neurosurgery.
• Supervise residents and medical students in clinic and OR.
• Document care in GW Hospital CMG EHR.
• Collaborate with care teams for day-to-day responsibilities
