Job summary

Capital Medical Group (CMG) is seeking a fellowship-trained Total Joint Replacement Orthopaedic Surgeon to join The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. The role includes a concurrent GW SMHS faculty appointment, teaching orthopaedic residents and medical students at an academic Level I trauma center.

The position offers a base salary plus wRVU productivity and an academic stipend, with competitive benefits and potential sign-on/relocation.

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited medical school with completed ACGME Orthopaedic Surgery residency and fellowship in Adult Reconstruction/Total Joint Arthroplasty.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible by ABOS; CAQ in Hand or equivalent pathways.
• Active or eligible DC medical license and ability to obtain GW Hospital privileges.

Responsibilities

• Perform primary hip and knee arthroplasty, including robotic- or navigation-assisted techniques.
• Perform revision hip/knee arthroplasty and manage periprosthetic complications.
• Lead hip preservation and complex reconstructive procedures as clinically indicated.
• Participate in bundled-payment and value-based care initiatives; optimize pathways and length of stay.
• Provide inpatient consultation for periprosthetic fracture and reconstruction-related trauma.
• Supervise residents and medical students in clinic and OR during Adult Reconstruction rotation.
• Collaborate with colleagues to manage day-to-day clinical responsibilities and documentation in EHR.
